Support Groups
In 1990 Dr. Schwartz initiated and sponsored the South Carolina RSDA Support Group in Greenville, South Carolina. He has also been a sponsor and founding board member of RSDA.org.
In 2002 Dr. Schwartz also started The South Carolina Fibromyalgia Support Group. In addition he is the founder and creator of the Bons Secours St. Francis Hospital Fibromyalgia Program in Greenville, SC. This may very well be the first hospital system wide Fibromyalgia program of its kind.
Dr. Schwartz served as the medical Director for the Palmetto Post Polio and Peripheral Neuropathy Support Group for its 20 year existence. He is a strong advocate of patient centered health care; that he incorporates a shared decision making model into his practice and the support groups.
